If you already own an Acala Stem face mask and love wearing it, here’s why…

We care enough for our customer’s health to put our masks to clinical tests. We’ve re-invested thousands in clinical testing of our own face masks to curate the perfect mask for our hometown of Melbourne’s upcoming summer, for students in a classroom and for countries with high humidity. Acala Stem mask’s inner layer of lotus microfibre has been clinically tested at world renown Nelson Laboratories in the USA for their Breathability (Differential Pressure, or Delta P) and Particle Filtration Efficiency (PFE). 

The ultra-thin, breathable layer of lotus microfibre between the organic cotton is trapping an extra 63% of microns at 0.3 in size. With the breathability result of 0.54, that’s 8-10 times more breathable than the plastic disposable variety. See our findings in summary below:

• An antibacterial activity (antibiosis) of greater than 99%*.
• Breathability (pressure differential) of 0.54 (mm H2O/cm2) i.e. 8 - 10 times better than medical-grade face masks #.
• The ability to filtrate nearly two-thirds of sub-micron particles ^. 

In simple terms, the anti-bacterial properties of the lotus microfibre means it not only prevents bacteria from forming, it actually kills it within 24 hours.

This is big big news, for our face coverings, and all our lotus products.
